Goin to the Library & Coco

I have been wanting to do this one for weeks. Kind of on a red theme for a while between "California Dreaming", "The Girl with the Bag" and now, "Goin to the Library"!

I am gonna see if Salon Owner will let me hang "Coco" in the shampoo room!

Supper at Sunset

I painted this from a black and white photo!

"DownTown" is finished!

Okay, now I am happy with it!

And guess what? I just sold a painting! FellowStylist bought "Glowing"!! I am so happy. I bought her "Pooch" painting.

We are both happy!! Art Party Girl said her first sale was to her uncle. What a high!

Oh, and I decided to take a Drawing One class at our local junior college. Monday and Wednesday mornings. Starts August 25. I can hardly wait. I have finally figured out that painting is drawing in color. I used to HATE it. Then I got all competitive that DayBreak was drawing. In spite of my wrong motive, it turned into a good thing for me.

"DownTown"

I should wait til this is completely done, but you all know patience is a virtue I have only a little of!! While Art Party Girl n I were flying home from Orlando last week, I found this tiny photo in a mag. Enlarged it and painted in acrylic on a 24" X 30" canvas.

Found her in a mag. Am very happy. Art Party Girl wanted me to call her "Gladiolas" bc she matched the flowers she bought for the Art Party tonight!!

Rolling Hills

While Jade, Jar n DayBreak were at the Florida Outpouring, I listened online (www.god.tv/stream ) and did this pastel, which is a copy of Don Tiller's FIELD DAY.

I bought a new sketch book and a case for all my pencils and erasers. Trying to be more organized so I will sketch more frequently. TT and I were watching T.V. and this plant sits on the coffee table where I had my feet propped!!

Glowing

I finished it. Looks better in life than here. Really!!

Errr, I must keep working on my sketching. I only had a pen, and thought how DayBreak could sketch with a pen, so gave a self-portrait a whirl!! Face way too short, I know. And you can see, it started out even shorter. The bearded lady herself!

Unfinished?

I have always wanted to take a big brush and several colors and just glop paint! This seascape seemed to tell me it was okay with that!

So here it is! I have not decided if I am just going to leave it as is, or continue to work it. What do you think?

California Dreamin'

Okay, I LOVE this!! I had so much fun with this. I always loved bridges because my dad would tell me how they were built. I loved it when he talked engineering things with me. Second of three from June 29 party.
